1. ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT: QNU’s Quarter 2, 2023 University Council Meeting
The official approval of the financial plan for 2024 is one of the important items in the Quarter 2, 2023 meeting of QNU’s University Council. Under this plan, in the academic year 2023 - 2024, QNU will invest in facilities and teaching equipment for the fields of engineering, natural sciences, pedagogy, classroom equipment, library, institutes, management software and training services, etc. In addition, the University Council issued a Resolution to approve the policy of launching the doctoral programs in Accounting and Materials Science.
2. EDUCATION ACCREDITATION: QNU and its 2 master’s programs achieve quality accreditation (Cycle 2)
On June 21, QNU cooperated with the Center for Education Accreditation - the University of Danang in holding a Ceremony to announce the Decisions and award the Certificates of Education Accreditation to QNU (Cycle 2) and a master's programs in Accounting and Solid-state Physics.
The results of education accreditation of Quy Nhon University (cycle 2) and education accreditation of the 2 training programs are considered as an important basis for assessing training capacity, scientific research, innovation and the building of QNU into a multi-disciplinary, multi-field, application-oriented university of high reputation, meeting the quality standards of Southeast Asia and having an important position in cooperation in training, research, and academic and cultural exchange, both at home and abroad.
3. HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT: Implementing e-learning (April - Present)
From April 10 to 14, 2023, QNU held training sessions on methods of designing learning activities and evaluating results in E-Learning teaching led by in Belgian experts. In June 2023, QNU also organized training sessions on building Elearning materials.
It is expected that the E-Learning materials under construction will be implemented in the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024.
4. SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY: IUC - Stage 1
On May 29, "The kick-off event of the Institutional University Cooperation Program with Quy Nhon University - Phase I" (IUC-QNU) took place with the participation of representatives of stakeholders government agencies at all levels as well as enterprises.
The event included 7 projects with the goal of "Improving the capacity of QNU with a view to improving the livelihoods and living conditions of the communities in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands of Vietnam in the direction of sustainable development.
The event was not only a milestone marking the first steps connecting QNU's lecturers with the international academic community, and opening up opportunities to foster multilateral cooperation towards the sustainable development of QNU and localities.
Stage 1 will last for 5 years, (2022 – 2027) and will be an extremely important basis for IUC-QNU to achieve the desirable goals.
5. COOPERATION – FOREIGN PARTNERSHIP: QNU gradually implements development strategy of Artificial Intelligence and space technology - remote sensing
QNU has the big advantage in the fields of Physics, Mathematics and basic science. On that basis, on June 28, the High Technology Department under the Ministry of Science & Technology worked with QNU on the development strategy of Artificial Intelligence, space technology - remote sensing. With the advantage of resources of QNU, the leaders of the two sides had exchanges and proposals in implementing national-level scientific research tasks, integrating science and technology applied in biology, environment, medicine, remote sensing, etc.
At the same time, to encourage QNU’s lecturers and researchers to perform science and technology tasks according to Decree 109 of the Government, thereby solving local science and technology problems of the the locality and area.
6. ENTERPRISE COOPERATION: Job opportunities
In May, QNU held the QNU Job Fair 2023, attracting 22 enterprises in many different fields and industries, providing more than 2,000 job opportunities for QNU students and alumni.
Currently, QNU has built a business network with more than 458 agencies and enterprises closely associated with the University in the process of training, internships, employment for its students. Specifically, QNU has signed cooperation agreements with additional 11 agencies and enterprises, bringing the total to 70 agencies and enterprises that have signed cooperation agreements with QNU.
According to the employment survey results in 2021, the percentage of QNU graduates who find employment is 89.06%.
7. TRAINING:Car Service UniTour 2023
QNU cooperated with Vietnam Automobile Academy in organizing the "Car Service UniTour 2023". This was the first time the event had been held in the Central region - Central Highlands after 5 consecutive years of organization. At the event, the cars registered to participate received maintenance of interior, engine compartment; cleaning, and had their tires and batteries checked. All services were performed using Wurth (Germany) car care and maintenance products. This was an opportunity for QNU students of Automotive Engineering Technology to experience the real world of work and improve their practical skills.
ICT QNU
