1. The 2020 - 2025 Outstanding Role Models Conference
On March 31, Quy Nhon University held the 2020–2025 Outstanding Role Models Conference to review the achievements of the patriotic emulation movement and commendation work during this period. The conference aimed to highlight accomplishments, identify areas for improvement, and set future directions. Additionally, the university outlined its vision, goals, targets, and strategic measures to further enhance the emulation movement and improve the effectiveness of commendation and reward practices for the 2025–2030 period.
At the conference, four collectives and 20 individuals who demonstrated outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement and served as exemplary role models at the university during the 2020–2025 period were honored and awarded for their contributions.
With its educational philosophy, mission, vision, and core values centered on humanity and comprehensiveness, the university remains steadfast in its commitment to excellence. Quy Nhon University strives to further solidify its position as one of the nation’s leading educational institutions, keeping pace with the continuous development and innovation of society.
2. The Conference on Reviewing the University’s Strategic Development Plan for the 2016 - 2020 Period and Vision to 2030
On the afternoon of March 17, during the Conference on Reviewing the Strategic Development Plan of Quy Nhon University for the 2016–2020 Period and Vision to 2030, the university also held a training session on strategic planning. The session was guided by Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Lộc, a strategic planning expert and former Vice President of the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences.
The conference reviewed QNU's key achievements in Education and Training; Science, Technology, and International Cooperation; Quality Assurance; Organizational Structure and Human Resources; Infrastructure; and Finance during the 2016 - 2020 period with a vision to 2030. Additionally, it outlined strategic directions and development plans for the 2025 - 2030 period, with a vision toward 2045.
3. QNU is implementing the restructuring and reorganization of its organizational apparatus and personnel
The reorganization and restructuring of the university's organizational apparatus are essential efforts to enhance management efficiency and operational effectiveness, aligning with the institution's development needs. This initiative also reflects the core principles and key priorities of the government’s administrative reform policy - "Streamlined, Compact, Strong, Efficient, Effective, and Productive" - in the new era, keeping pace with the nation’s overall development trends.
Accordingly, on February 24, Quy Nhon University held a Conference to Announce Decisions on Organizational Restructuring and Personnel Arrangements with the following key changes:
• The Facilities Management Office was merged into the Planning and Finance Office, retaining the name Planning and Finance Office.
• The Automotive Engineering Department was integrated into the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
• Based on similar functions and responsibilities, the university consolidated existing units to establish three new departments:
- Academic Affairs Office
- Student Affairs & Corporate Relations Office
- Digital and Learning Resource Center
4. Agenda of the Regular Meeting of the University Council in Q1 2025
• Evaluating the performance outcomes of the University Council for Q1 2025; discussing and agreeing on the work plan for Q2 2025.
• Issuing amendments and supplements to the Organizational and Operational Regulations of Quy Nhon University.
• Approving the Autonomy Proposal of Quy Nhon University.
• Deciding on the removal of the Chief Accountant of Quy Nhon University from their position.
• Deciding on the appointment of personnel to the position of Chief Accountant of Quy Nhon University.
• Approving the proposal to establish doctoral training programs in the fields of English Language and Electrical Engineering.
• Approving the proposal for distance learning programs in the fields of English Language, Accounting, Law, Social Work, and Land Management.
• Providing feedback on the Proposal to establish the University Council of Quy Nhon University for the 2025–2030 term.

5. Two academic programs at QNU have been awarded the AUN-QA 4.0 Certification
With continuous efforts in program accreditation and enhancing the university's reputation, two academic programs at QNU—Economics and Business Administration—have officially been awarded the AUN-QA 4.0 Certification by the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) in March.
This certification affirms that QNU’s programs meet international quality standards, ensuring excellence in teaching, curriculum design, faculty qualifications, facilities, and career opportunities for students.
As of now, Quy Nhon University has successfully undergone two cycles of institutional quality accreditation and has had 26 academic programs accredited under both national and international standards.
6. QNU collaborates in organizing the Competency Assessment Exam of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM)
The first phase of the 2025 Competency Assessment Exam by Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) took place on March 30 across 25 provinces and cities, with over 128,000 candidates participating. At the Quy Nhon University test site, a total of 5,267 candidates registered for the exam.
In this exam session, the Quy Nhon University test site comprised five examination locations, including four at QNU and one at Quoc Hoc Quy Nhon High School. The results of the Competency Assessment Exam will be used for admissions to over 100 universities and colleges nationwide, including Quy Nhon University.
7. Welcoming and working with the high-level delegation from KU Leuven University (Kingdom of Belgium)
On March 31, Quy Nhon University welcomed and worked with a high-level delegation from KU Leuven University (Kingdom of Belgium). This meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to discuss collaboration in joint research projects, thematic conferences, seminars, lectures, and faculty and student exchange programs.
This visit held special significance as the leadership of both universities engaged in discussions to define future cooperation goals, following their partnership in the Institutional University Cooperation Program with Quy Nhon University (IUC-QNU).
8. Welcoming and working with the Education Cooperation Attaché of the French Embassy in Vietnam
On January 20, Quy Nhon University had the honor of welcoming Mr. Arnaud Pannier, Education Cooperation Attaché of the French Embassy in Vietnam, for an official visit and working session.
Both sides agreed to explore bilateral cooperation opportunities based on mutual agreements, including:
• Providing French language volunteers for the Faculty of Foreign Languages and the French Club.
• Coordinating and promoting short-term training programs for French-speaking lecturers.
• Supporting the establishment of a DELF and DALF exam center at Quy Nhon University.
• Providing financial and educational resources to support the French Club.
9. QNU visits and collaborates with JAIST (Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology)
As part of the Master’s in Data Science collaboration between Quy Nhon University (QNU) and VINIF, a delegation from QNU, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đoàn Đức Tùng, visited and worked with the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) from March 22 to March 26, 2025. The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Terano Minoru, President of JAIST, along with Vice Presidents and other representatives.
During the working session, both sides discussed management models and opportunities for collaboration in postgraduate education and research. Additionally, in-depth meetings with JAIST’s School of Knowledge Science, School of Materials Science, and School of Information Science explored potential cooperation in fields such as Data Science, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Nanotechnology, and Advanced Materials. This visit laid the groundwork for sustainable collaboration in the future, contributing to QNU’s internationalization strategy.
10. Collaborating with Syre Group (Sweden) and Oxford Instruments Group in research and human resource training
On February 18, Quy Nhon University (QNU) held a working session with Mr. Tim King, Senior Operations Director of Syre Group, to explore collaboration opportunities in research, investment, and high-quality workforce training in engineering, chemical engineering, and other related fields. The discussion also focused on expanding career pathways for QNU students and trainees within international corporations.
Notably, Syre Group is currently planning an investment project worth approximately $1 billion in Binh Dinh.
11. QNU expands collaboration to enhance foreign language proficiency for students and residents of Quy Nhon City
On March 20, Quy Nhon University (QNU) held a working session with the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City to discuss the organization of free Korean language classes for QNU students and residents of Quy Nhon City.
Both parties explored collaboration opportunities in Korean language training, cultural exchange programs, and strengthening the partnership between QNU and the Korean Language Center.
12. The project "Soap Production from Recycled Cooking Oil" won the "QNU Student Startup Idea Final" for the 2024 - 2025 academic year
The final round of the "QNU Student Startup Idea" competition for the 2024-2025 academic year took place on March 1. This annual event aims to ignite entrepreneurial spirit among students, providing a platform for young innovators to present their ideas, connect with experts and businesses, and gradually turn their projects into reality.
Outshining 69 diverse and innovative startup ideas, the UCOSoap project claimed the championship with its concept of collecting used cooking oil to produce biodiesel, while utilizing glycerol byproducts to create eco-friendly soap.
13. Highlights of Youth Month Activities
With the theme "Youth of Quy Nhon University – Proud and Confident in Following the Party", Youth Month 2025 was marked by a series of meaningful activities launched by the QNU Youth Union.
Amid the prideful atmosphere of historic March, the "Memories of Youth – Aspiration to Contribute" talk show was organized, where inspiring stories and unforgettable memories of a passionate youth were shared.
Additionally, the Youth Union awarded winners of the contest on understanding the Resolution of the 21st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (2024-2027 term).
14. QNU Organizes Career Guidance Activities to Introduce Its Training System to High School Students
Recently, over 400 12th-grade students from Bui Thi Xuan High School and 60 students from IEC Quang Ngai International Education City participated in QNU’s career guidance program to explore the university’s training system and academic activities.
During the event, students not only had the chance to interact with QNU students but also discover various academic programs and experience the university’s modern facilities firsthand. This initiative not only strengthens practical engagement between QNU and high school students but also provides a comprehensive, multi-dimensional view of different fields of study. As a result, students can better understand their interests and abilities, helping them make informed decisions about their future education paths.
