ICT - 45 years of construction and development, Quy Nhon University (QNU) has been continuously growing, recorded great achievements of great significance, and become a multi-disciplinary higher education institution, effectively serving the country's sustainable development, especially in the South Central - Central Highlands region. In the atmosphere towards the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the University (December 21, 1977 - December 21, 2022), on the morning of December 18, QNU solemnly held “its 45th founding anniversary”.

On the occasion of its 45th founding anniversary, QNU awarded an honorary doctorate to Prof.D.Sc. Michel Théra - University of Limoges (France) in recognition of his contribution to QNU’s training and scientific research activities. Prof. D.Sc. Michel Théra is the person who laid the foundation for training and research cooperation between a number of French and Vietnamese universities, including QNU. In addition, He has also given many PhD scholarships to Vietnamese students who are pursuing doctoral programs in France.

At the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My - Rector of QNU made a speech reviewing QNU’s 45 years of construction and development and some outstanding achievements that QNU had recorded in the past 45 years. He emphasized that on the way of construction and development, QNU had constantly grown in terms of scale, fields, qualifications, training quality and a team of lecturers, officials and employees, saying that QNU had trained many generations of teachers, scientists, educational administrators, meeting the requirements in each development stage of the country. He affirmed that it was thanks to the unremitting efforts and dedication of the leaders, officials, employees, teachers and students over many generations of QNU that QNU had recorded those great achievements.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc An - Member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training, Chairman of the Vietnam Education Union congratulated and highly appreciated the achievements recorded by QNU in recent years. He affirmed that QNU had become a "cradle" for training human resources, mainly for pedagogy and business - management, technology and engineering, environmental protection, and social sciences, production and processing, social services, etc., of the country saying that those achievements had also contributed significantly to the overall success of Binh Dinh province, recognized and praised by Mr. Lam Hai Giang - Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee at the ceremony.

Huynh Van Nam - Japan Advanced Institute of Technology (JAIST), a Course 9 former student of Mathematics Education expressed his joy at meeting his teachers and old classmates and seeing the outstanding development of the University. On this occasion, Mr. Huynh Van Nam, on behalf of the former students, expressed his pride and offered his heartfelt gratitude to generations of teachers, officials and the second home named QNU.

On the occasion of QNU’s 45th founding anniversary, Mr. Nguyen Van Lang - General Director of Becamex Binh Dinh Company, representatives of partners and businesses expressed the hope that QNU would continue to cooperate with agencies, enterprises in order to promote the potential and advantages of all parties, meeting the goals of sustainable development in the next period.
