1. News on QNU
On January 9, QNU cooperated with KU Leuven University in organizing the second meeting of the IUC-QNU Program Coordination Committee. The meeting aimed to evaluate the implementation progress of the entire Program as well as each specific project in the first year of Phase 1, thereby drawing lessons and discussing plans for implementing projects for the years to come.
In the first quarter of 2024, Project 2 on "Application of nano-materials and new technical solutions to improve the performance of solar drying systems and biogas production systems", Project 5 on “Establishing risk assessment and management models for the supply chain of dragon fruit in Binh Thuan and apples in Ninh Thuan” and Project 7 “Building a sustainable waste management system at Quy Nhon University Nhon" implemented academic activities such as seminars and Truong Xuan with the participation of many experts from Belgium, domestic experts, QNU’s lecturers, undergraduate, graduate students.
Also in the first quarter of 2024, QNU connected and created a premise for the implementation of projects in the fields of agricultural science, food, and renewable energy in Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces.
2. The French Ambassador pays a working visit to QNU
On the afternoon of March 30, QNU had the honor to welcome Mr. Olivier Brochet - French Ambassador to Vietnam and leader of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) to the University on his working trip to Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh. This is the third time QNU has had the honor of welcoming an ambassador from other countries to the University.
At the meeting, the two parties had discussions aimed at QNU being a unit supporting the development of the French language (Francophone community) in training, scientific research and technology transfer serving as a bridge between the French Embassy in Vietnam with ICISE in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.
3. QNU receives 45 students from 4 Southern Lao provinces
On February 20, QNU welcomed and worked with a high-level delegation from 4 Southern Lao provinces (including Champasak, Attapu, Salavan and Sekong).
In the 2023-2024 academic year, QNU has cooperated with the Binh Dinh Department of Foreign Affairs and 04 Southern Lao provinces to receive 45 Laotian students who come to do a Vietnamese language course.
4. QNU holds its Graduation ceremony in 2024’s Round 1 with 211 new bachelors and 232 new Masters
In March 2024, QNU held a graduation ceremony, awarding master's degrees in 2024’s Round 1 to its 211 new bachelors and 232 new Masters.
Fresh bouquets of flowers and good wishes from their families, lecturers, and friends would be the motivation for QNU’s new graduates and Masters to strive for the better on a new path.
5. QNU’s University Council’s Quarter 1, 2024 meeting
Promulgating amendments and supplements to QNU's Organization and Operation Regulations was one of the important items on the agenda of QNU’s University Council’s Quarter 1, 2024 meeting. In addition, the meeting also proposed promulgating amendments and supplements to the Regulations on recruitment and management of public-sector employees as well as regulations on the list of periodically convertible positions for its officials, and gave its approval for the Financial Report and the Funding Finalization Report for the University's legal revenue sources in 2022.
6. Communications and Media conference on program in Science and Tourism + QNU’s 7 master’s, doctoral students and lecturers awarded VINIF scholarships
The Data Science program is currently receiving attention from the entire society, especially businesses, corporations, local authorities, etc. in synthesizing and analyzing information and big data. Keeping pace with this trend, on March 23, QNU held a "Communications and Media Conference and Topical Report on Data Science at QNU”.
According to experts, in the future, there will be an increased demand for human resources in science and tourism. QNU is one of the first higher education institutions in Vietnam which offers undergraduate and Master's programs in Data Science. Therefore, in 2024, QNU’s master's program in Data Science has an enrollment quota of 40 students with many valuable scholarships sponsored by Vingroup Innovation Fund (VINIF).
In 2023, VINIF continued to implement annual sponsorship and cooperation programs with QNU on training and scientific research, award many master's and doctoral scholarships to its undergraduate post-graduate students, lecturers. On January 16, at the Announcement Ceremony of 2023 sponsorship programs, QNU’s 7 lecturers, undergraduate and post-graduate students were awarded VinIF scholarships.
7. QNU receives 2 TeqBall sports tables
Within the framework of their working visit to the Binh Dinh province People's Committee, Mr. Lehőcz Gábor - Consul General of Hungary in Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Laszlo Vajda - General Secretary of the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) came to visit and present QNU with 02 TeqBall sports tables on March 20.
TeqBall is a sport that combines football, table tennis and indirect fighting, played on a curved table. QNU’s receipt of 02 TeqBall sports tables creates conditions for its lecturers and students to access and practice a new sport in the world.
It is expected that the TEQBALL WORLD SERIES in Vietnam will be held in Quy Nhon City for the first time in June 2024.
8. QNU’s 2024 university admissions scheme
The Ministry of Education and Training has issued all sets of reference exam questions and announced the 2024 high school graduation examination schedule. Accordingly, the 2024 high school graduation examination will be held on September 26-29 June, 2024.
In 2024, QNU enrolls full-time candidates for 50 undergraduate programs with an enrolment quota of 5,879 students, of which 1,874 are for teacher education programs. In particular, in the 2024 - 2025 academic year, QNU will enroll candidates for 01 high-quality program, and 02 joint training programs (affiliated with the University of Birmingham (UK)). QNU enrolls candidates with 4 admissions modes.
In March 2024, QNU carried out its university admissions consulting at Binh Dinh-based high schools.

9. Minister of Information and Communications meets with QNU’s officials, lecturers and students
On March 29, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung had a working visit with QNU’s officials, lecturers and students discussing some issues relating to digital transformation in higher education.
On this occasion, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung witnessed the pilot transfer ceremony of the QNU Slink digital connection system between the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology and QNU. The application is installed and used on many platforms and smartphones. This system provides digital services in administrative work for learners, helping QNU improve the quality of training services while saving time and implementation costs.
ICT QNU
