Held from July 13 to 17, 2026, SWOPDT 2026 was jointly organized by Quy Nhon University, the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM), and ICISE. The international academic forum convened scientists, lecturers, doctoral candidates, graduate students, and undergraduates, creating a space to exchange new research findings in applied mathematics while expanding collaboration and connections between Vietnam’s research community and international academia.
Amid the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, optimization, optimal control, and decision theory are increasingly recognized as foundational to numerous scientific and technological fields. Advances in optimization models are opening new avenues of application, from data science and engineering to economics and intelligent management. This is why international academic forums such as SWOPDT 2026 serve as vital bridges for sharing knowledge, engaging with cutting-edge research trends, and fostering collaboration between Vietnamese researchers and the international academic community.

The Summer School featured a series of in-depth lectures delivered by professors from the United States, France, and Vietnam. Designed with a contemporary orientation, the programme focused on control theory, optimization, nonlinear analysis, decision theory, and applications in artificial intelligence, data science, and a range of interdisciplinary areas. In addition to gaining access to new knowledge and research trends, participants engaged directly with international experts, broadened their academic perspectives, strengthened research connections, and laid the groundwork for future collaboration.
Continuing the Summer School programme, the SWOPDT 2026 International Workshop will take place on July 17, 2026, at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), bringing together scientists, specialists, and researchers from many countries. The workshop will feature in-depth presentations on optimization, optimal control, Hamilton–Jacobi equations, stochastic models, and a variety of emerging research directions attracting global interest. It will provide an important forum for sharing research results, academic exchange, and the advancement of international cooperation opportunities.
The event welcomed professors, lecturers, doctoral candidates, graduate students, and undergraduates, creating a diverse academic space in which knowledge was shared, research ideas were connected, and new collaborative relationships were formed. Alongside the specialist presentation sessions, participants had opportunities to engage directly with international experts, broaden their research thinking, and develop academic networks in an international scholarly environment.
Co-hosting SWOPDT 2026 affirmed Quy Nhon University’s role in connecting international academic activities and fostering a high-quality research environment. In recent years, QNU has continuously expanded partnerships with universities, research institutes, and scientific organizations worldwide, while prioritizing the development of fundamental sciences, applied mathematics, statistics, data science, and artificial intelligence. Regularly organized international academic events have helped create an environment in which lecturers, students, and researchers can access advanced scientific trends, enhance research capacity, and promote international publications.
Through SWOPDT 2026, Quy Nhon University continues to affirm its commitment to building an open academic environment, connecting Vietnamese and international scientists, supporting the formation of strong research groups, and cultivating new scientific ideas. The event is also a practical contribution to QNU’s development strategy of becoming a reputable regional centre for education, research, and innovation, while progressively deepening its integration into the international academic community.
