DLR - Marking a significant turning point in the university's development and its strategy for reforming university governance, the Party Committee and Board of Rectors of Quy Nhon University convened an official conference on the afternoon of June 8, 2026, to announce and present the decisions designating the Party Committee Secretary and Deputy Secretary for the 2025–2030 term, along with the ministerial decisions on the appointment of the Rector and Vice Rectors. This event carries profound significance, marking the completion of the university's leadership consolidation process and ensuring full alignment between Party-building work and institutional governance in accordance with Politburo Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, dated August 28, 2025.

In attendance at the conference were Comrade Vo Thi Thu Hoa — Provincial Party Committee Member and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee — along with leaders from the Party Committee's Organization Board, the Board of Propaganda and Public Mobilization, the Party Committee Office, and the Inspection Committee of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee. Also present were the university's Party Committee, Board of Rectors, former university leaders, the President and Vice President of the Alumni Educators' Association, the Executive Board of the Trade Union, the Secretary of the Youth Union, the President of the Veterans' Association, the President of the Student Union, the Chief Accountant, the Head of the People's Inspection Board, Party Cell Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries and Cell Committee Members, as well as representatives from mass organizations and all units under and affiliated with Quy Nhon University.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Vo Thi Thu Hoa acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements of Quy Nhon University in recent years, particularly in the areas of training, scientific research, technology transfer, and contributions to the socio-economic development of the local and regional community. She extended her congratulations to Comrade Doan Duc Tung and Comrade Nguyen Quang Ngoan on their newly entrusted responsibilities, and expressed her confidence that both would continue to bring their strong political commitment, professional expertise, and management experience to bear — working together with the university's leadership collective to foster a united, democratic, innovative, and creative working environment. She called on the leadership team to build upon the achievements already made, to focus on implementing strategic priorities with resolve, and to continuously enhance the quality of training, scientific research, innovation, and community service — thereby further affirming the standing and reputation of Quy Nhon University within Vietnam's higher education system.

The consolidation of key leadership positions within the Party Committee of Quy Nhon University holds great significance in strengthening the Party organization's leadership capacity and fighting spirit, ensuring comprehensive Party leadership over all institutional activities, and laying a solid foundation for the effective implementation of political and professional tasks throughout the 2025–2030 period.

At the conference, the university also announced the personnel decisions issued by the Ministry of Education and Training. On June 5, 2026, the Ministry issued formal decisions on the appointment of the Rector and Vice Rectors of Quy Nhon University. Under these decisions, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Tung was appointed Rector of Quy Nhon University, while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Ngoan, Dr. Ha Thanh Hai, and Dr. Dinh Anh Tuan were appointed Vice Rectors.

Speaking on behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Rectors, Comrade Doan Duc Tung — Party Secretary and Rector — expressed his deep appreciation and heartfelt gratitude for the trust placed in him by the Party Committee of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the entire staff and workforce of the university. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Tung also paid tribute to the generations of former leaders whose invaluable contributions have shaped the growth and development of Quy Nhon University, affirming his determination to inherit and carry forward the cherished traditions that have built the university's reputation and standing.

In response to the demands of this new development phase, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Tung underscored his commitment to working with the leadership collective to build a united, democratic, innovative, and creative working environment — one that places learners at the center, while prioritizing the development of academic staff and continuously raising the quality of education and scientific research. The university will concentrate on a set of core strategic priorities: strengthening Party-building work; advancing comprehensive digital transformation; enhancing the effectiveness of university governance under the autonomous management mechanism; developing a high-quality human resource base; promoting the internationalization of education; intensifying scientific research, innovation, and technology transfer; broadening cooperation with enterprises, local authorities, and partners both at home and abroad; and continuing to invest in and upgrade the infrastructure and facilities supporting teaching and research.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Tung affirmed that these strategic directions represent the leadership collective's action commitments for the new term. He called upon all Party members, staff, employees, and students to continue upholding the tradition of solidarity and to join hands in building a sustainable Quy Nhon University — one that steadily consolidates its position within Vietnam's higher education system and embraces international integration. He also expressed his hope for continued guidance and support from the Party Committee of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the university's partners, in order to translate the institution's development goals into reality in this new era.

The announcement of the competent authorities' decisions on Party-building and leadership personnel marks a pivotal step in the consolidation of Quy Nhon University's leadership structure. This provides the foundation for the university to continue effectively implementing its development strategies in the new period, ensuring coherence between Party-building work and university governance, and enhancing operational effectiveness, educational quality, scientific research, and the competitive strength of this public higher education institution.
