On the morning of April 8, Quy Nhon University warmly welcomed and held a meeting with representatives from the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang and leaders from Nippon Sport Science University (Japan). The meeting aimed to finalize the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and a Partnership Agreement (PA) between Quy Nhon University and Nippon Sport Science University, focusing on cooperation in martial arts exchange.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Doan Duc Tung, Rector of Quy Nhon University, expressed his delight in welcoming the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang, accompanied by his spouse, and representatives from the leadership of Nippon Sport Science University to visit and engage in discussions at the university. The Rector provided an overview of the university’s training scale, its international cooperation activities, particularly the IUC-QNU program, and highlighted several Japanese partners QNU has collaborated with in recent years, including the Embassy of Japan in Hanoi, the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association in Sakai City, Dong Du Foreign Language Center, Mai Tin Trading Co., Ltd., and others. Additionally, in the field of research, Quy Nhon University has been actively collaborating with the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), conducting joint research with professors in key areas such as computer science, artificial intelligence, engineering, and technology. The Rector also noted that the university has incorporated Japanese language proficiency as a graduation requirement for certain undergraduate programs at QNU. Furthermore, QNU is currently working with partners to facilitate internships in Japan for students in two specialized fields: automotive engineering and hospitality management.
Building on the previous cooperative activities between the two institutions, today Quy Nhon University continues to deepen its partnership with Nippon Sport Science University through the signing of new agreements. Associate Professor Dr. Doan Duc Tung expressed his hope that both parties will achieve effective and fruitful collaboration in the near future.

Mr. Takero Mori, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, expressed his joy in witnessing the signing ceremony between Quy Nhon University and Nippon Sport Science University. He highlighted the significance of this event, which exemplifies the spirit of friendly cooperation and the growing bond between educational institutions of Vietnam and Japan.
It was noted that Mr. Akasaka Hideki, serving as a permanent representative in Quy Nhon City, played a crucial role in facilitating the connection between the two universities. Additionally, the proactive support from the government of Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture, was a key factor in establishing and nurturing this collaborative relationship.
Mr. Takero Mori expressed his hope that the agreements signed today will not only strengthen the partnership between Quy Nhon University and Nippon Sport Science University but also enhance the ties between Binh Dinh Province and Japan, thereby deepening the friendship and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan. The Consulate General also affirmed that, in his capacity, Mr. Takero Mori is committed to making every effort to support and accompany all parties in implementing the agreed-upon cooperative initiatives.

The primary goal of this agreement is to strengthen the friendly relationship between the two institutions while promoting cultural understanding and connectivity among students and faculty, particularly in the fields of sports and martial arts. Through exchange programs, academic interactions, and joint activities, students from both countries will gain valuable opportunities to experience, learn, and grow together in a dynamic and promising international environment.
In 2024, Quy Nhon University and Nippon Sport Science University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on organizing sports activities and events. Today’s signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and Partnership Agreement (PA) marks a significant step forward, deepening the collaboration between the two universities in the field of martial arts—a traditional and distinctive domain of both nations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to develop, enhance, and strengthen their cooperative relationship by promoting future sports-related exchange activities among faculty and students of the two universities. Additionally, they signed a Partnership Agreement (PA) aimed at fostering cultural exchange through traditional martial arts and enhancing martial arts knowledge through activities such as faculty and student exchanges, organizing workshops, and implementing joint training programs. This collaboration will serve as a foundation for creating opportunities for students and faculty from both institutions to engage, learn, and grow through martial arts, sports, and academic exchange programs.
The delegation visiting Quy Nhon University included Mr. Takero Mori, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, and his spouse, Mrs. Ino Mori; Mr. Masuhiko Mizuno, Vice President of Nippon Sport Science University; and Mr. Gakushi Nakamura, Manager of the International Center Office at Nippon Sport Science University.
The delegation was warmly received by Associate Professor Dr. Doan Duc Tung, Rector of Quy Nhon University, along with leaders from various units, including the Office of Science, Technology, and International Cooperation; the Office of Administration and General Affairs; the Office of Academic Affairs; the Faculty of Physical Education; and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
