MANAGEMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT
Sustainable resources exploitation management and environmental protection is a foremost objective as well as a strategic mission in the development of our country in the renovation period. In the context of accelerating international integration and the process of industrialization and modernization of the country, the massive exploitation of national resources has brought about a series of environmental changes. The problem of environmental pollution is a great challenge that our country has been facing fiercely not only at present but also in the years to come.

1. Training objectives:
• To train consultants, and formulate the implementation plans in organizing territorial planning on the management of natural resources and environment, the legal system, the environmental policy and the natural sciences.
2. Strengths:
• The program has been drawn up in a modern way, updated based on the social development. Under this program, students are equipped with background knowledge in natural resources management, environmental impact assessment, geographic information systems, sustainable development and technological applications in managing natural resources and environment, protecting natural resources and improving economy and society. Students are also updated on new knowledge and technology and equipped with soft skills, practical skills and scientific research skills.
3. Contents
• General education knowledge: 22 credits
• Professional knowledge: 110 credits (including 7 credits of graduation theses)
• Basic subjects: Environmental Science; Environmental Geology; Economics of Environmental Resources; Fundamentals of Reasonable Use of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection; State Management of Natural Resources and Environment; Management of Tourism Environment, Community-based Management of Natural Resources, etc.
• Specialized subjects: Monitoring of Environment, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Planning, Environmental Impact Assessment, GIS Applications in the Management of Natural Resources and Environment, Environmental Economics, Forest Ecology and Forest Management; Assessment of Natural Resources; Management of Urban and Rural Environment; Design and management of environmental projects, etc.
• Skills accumulated:
- Able to Formulate and develop the capacity of management consultancy and rational use of environmental resources for state management agencies and socio-economic organizations;
- Able to gain considerable knowledge of modern research methods and technological procedures in research on natural resources and environment and in mapping, Geographic information system (GIS) - Remote Sensing and project planning procedures.
- Proficient in some assistant software in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment such as Mapinfo, ArcGIS Desktop, QGIS, ENVI, etc.
