LAND MANAGEMENT
Land is a very valuable resource and it is the basis for the national economy. Effective land management results in increasing income for the state budget and at the same time ensures the efficiency of the management and use of urban and rural land in accordance with the planning and the law. Land management staff are supposed to deal with the cadastral measurement, map design and land-related administrative procedures.
1. Training objectives
Students of Land Management are provided with professional knowledge, political qualities, professional ethics, good health, good social communication skills, management expertise, independent thought, teamwork skills, production management and land-management-related technique transfer.
Land management graduates are able to fulfil job requirements at state agencies, state non-business units, universities, colleges, research institutes as well as governmental and non-governmental agencies in the field of Land Management.
2. Program strengths:
It is regularly updated according to changes in the content of state management of land.
3. Program contents
- General knowledge:
+ Knowledge of basic principles of Marxism-Leninism, the revolutionary line of the Vietnames Communist Party and Ho Chi Minh Thought, which are useful in solving theoretical and practical issues in career and life.
+ Foreign languages, computer skills, specialized documents reading comprehension skills, basic communication skills, knowledge of scientific research methods, systematic thought and ability to apply the knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry to the management and use of land.
- Professional knowledge
+ Basic subjects: basic knowledge of maps, soil, natural geography, land evaluation, remote sensing, geographic information system (GIS) and application of this basic knowledge to measuring and establishing specialized maps for the management and use of land.
+ Specialized subjects: In-depth knowledge of land management and urban management such as land statistics, land inventories, land registration, land finance management, land evaluation and land use planning, urban planning and in-depth knowledge of remote sensing techniques - GIS - GNSS, WebGIS in formulating database and land information system, the establishment of land value map, the planning and making of cadastral maps, the making of land use state maps, the modeling and designing of urban landscape.
- Skills accumulated:
+ Skilled at mapping, using total stations, GNSS technology and digital image technology.
+ Skilled at using graphic software, GIS, database and WebGIS to make thematic maps, build up land database and manage land information.
+ Skilled at giving advice on land registration, valuation, statistics - inventory compensation and resettlement.
+ Skilled in presentation, teamwork and community consultation on land management.
4. Qualities and skills required
- Good political and ethical qualities, patriotism, job dedication, the spirit of service and a sense of responsibility.
- Essential skills in land management and cadastral technology, capacity of advising land management and cadastral work for state management agencies and socio-economic organizations.
5. Employment opportunities
Ggaduates can work as experts in: People's Committees of communes, wards and townships; Division of Natural Resources and Environment of districts; Departments of Land Management, Departments of Natural Resources and Environment; Land Registration Office / Branch Offices of Land Registration; Technical Service Centers for Natural Resources and Environment; Information Technology Centers under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Land development centers; Advisory units in the field of geodesy, land management and environment.

- A bachelor’s degree in Land Management.
