TRAINING OBJECTIVES
General objectives:
Bachelors of English Teacher Education are trained to have expertise and professional ethics to teach English at high schools, pedagogical schools, English language departments of colleges and universities across Vietnam. Besides, they also have ability to do further studies. In addition, graduates are able to work as English interpreters or English-related jobs in different organizations and companies.
Specific objectives
About moral qualities
- Morally good, imbued with Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought, patriotic, socialism-loving, dedicated to work, enthusiastic, responsible, and exemplary.
About knowledge
- Able to master the systematic science at university level in teaching English, including the knowledge of Vietnamese culture, education, psychology, English and teaching methodology to teach English at schools, colleges and universities.
- Able to master the method of doing scientific research on English language and English teaching methodology
- Able to manage English teaching activities in educational agencies.
About skills
- Proficient in Enlish skills (including listening, speaking, reading and writing) at post-intermediate level (by international standards).
- Able to master and use the skills to design English teaching plans, organizing teaching-learning activities and manage English classes.
- Able to use knowledge to study language and English teaching methodology at training and research institutions.
- Able to do self-study and do research; able to properly solve professional problems in order to improve specialized knowledge.
- Able to organize and encourage parents, students and social organizations to coordinate with the school in the care and education of students.
- Able to assist education administration agencies in teaching English.
