ICT - On the evening of February 25, Quy Nhon University (QNU) held the final night of the contest "QNU students with start-up ideas". With 36 contest ideas in many different fields, through 03 rounds of contest (preliminary, semi-final, training), the Organizing Committee selected 10 excellent teams for the final.
Promoting creativity and building start-up ideas is an activity conducted periodically in the training plan of QNU. The teams brought to the final many ideas of start-up projects in many different fields. During the final, each team presented their ideas and answered questions from the Jury.
Winners of first prize, a team of students from Faculty of Science & Technology with project "10-day Land of Martial Arts" Cake
Having made a close study of the projects, the jury decided to award the first prize of 05 million VND (US$200) for the project "10-day Land of Martial Arts" by a group of students from the Faculty of Natural Sciences. The project was judged to be the closest to reality, catching up with the trends and needs of society. The second prize went to a team of students of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities with the project of Skills Education Center. The project SCS-Smart Checking System (by a team of students of Information Technology) and that of the 2-in-1 electronic component soldering station (by a team of students from the Faculty of Education) jointly won the third prize.

The Organizing Committee also awarded 06 consolation prizes to the projects of Automatic Composting Machine (Faculty of Natural Sciences), Multi-purpose Tourism (Faculty of Science & Technology), Growing Organic Vegetables with Greenhouses (Faculty of Political Science - Law & State Management), Educational Software and Youth Orientation (Faculty of IT), Experience Languages - Chinese Language Center (Faculty of Foreign Languages) and the Pet Care & Beauty Spa (Faculty of Science & Technology).
Consolation prize winners
The “QNU Students with start-up ideas” contest creates a useful playground for QNU students. This activity aims not only to equip them with knowledge and skills of entrepreneurship, but also to seek and reward astute students for their creative ideas of start-up projects.
The final night of the contest was attended by Dr. Dinh Anh Tuan - Vice Rector of QNU, leaders of faculties, Centers for Admissions Counseling & Enterprise Relations, Information technology & Communication, QNU’s Youth Union, Student Association, and interested lecturers and students. The Jury members included Dr. Trinh Thi Thuy Hong - Faculty of Economics & Accounting, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoa - Deputy Director of the Center for Scientific Discovery and Innovation of Binh Dinh Province, Mr. Tran Tuong Vuong - Director of Thuong Thao Production Trading Co., Ltd., member of the Executive Committee of Binh Dinh Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association. |
