ICT - Within the framework of the program “Supporting the capacity building of students and lecturers through the network of the Centers for Francophone Digital Education (in French: Campus Numérique Francophone or CNF) and the Francophone Employment Support Centre (in French: Centre d'Employabilité Francophone or CEF) of the Association of Francophone Universities (in French: Agence universitaire de la Francophonie or AUF), on January 22, Quy Nhon University (QNU) cooperated with the Association of Francophone Universities (in French: Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie or AUF) in offering skills training courses for its lecturers and students.

The training classes were held for 3 days (January 22 - 24), with soft skills training for students on financial management and start-up ideas and for lecturers and administrators on "Designing and producing educational videos for blended learning".

Receiving Prof. Laurent Sermet - Director of AUF - Asia Pacific Region, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My expressed his joy at welcoming the AUF delegation to QNU. He offered his thanks to AUF for its effort to promote the activities of the Francophone community at QNU, contributing to building Quy Nhon City into a scientific and ecological urban center in the future.
Speaking at the opening session of the training classes, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Doan Duc Tung - Vice Rector of QNU, gave a brief overview of the history of cooperation between QNU and AUF, saying that in February 2022, QNU, as an associate member, participated in many activities of AUF, and revealing that QNU was asking the Ministry of Education and Training to approve the AUF-funded project “Developing an E-Learning training model at QNU”.

Within the cooperation framework between AUF and QNU, these training classes were a series of meaningful activities, providing knowledge for students as well as methods, and necessary skills for lecturers to serve QNU’s training in the near future.

Coming to QNU, Professor. Laurent Sermet was impressed with its location, campus and the coastal city of Quy Nhon. Giving a brief overview and mission of the AUF, he said that AUF's mission was to connect universities around the world using French as the teaching language and create a scientific research environment while still maintaining cultural and linguistic diversity adding that AUF would change its development orientation and economic aid - a very important issue in the autonomy trend of universities in Vietnam in general and QNU in particular.
He also shared the advantages of foreign languages and French for the current integration trend, and wished to cooperate with QNU to train human resources to meet the needs of industries and sectors in which QNU and the locality have potential and advantages.
Working with QNU, Prof. Laurent Sermet discussed the cooperation plans with its leaders in the near future. He expressed a wish to continue to provide support for QNU in teaching French, cooperate in organizing seminars on French, and act as a bridge to connect with partners in the Francophone community. He also emphasized that one of AUF's current key issues was innovation in the direction of opening up the world, strengthening connections with businesses and job opportunities for students.
At the meeting, QNU and AUF agreed to cooperate bilaterally in many potential fields. After the meeting, Professor. Laurent Sermet and members of the AUF did a tour of QNU's multimedia classrooms, laboratories and library.

AUF (Agence universitaire de la Francophonie) is a non-governmental organization that supports cooperation and connection between universities in the Francophone community. Currently, there are more than 1,000 universities in more than 120 countries and territories. AUF has operated in Vietnam for nearly 30 years and has had nearly 40 Vietnamese universities as its members.
Some activities of QNU and AUF:
+ QNU officially joined AUF as an observer member on December 18, 2018.
+ QNU was recognized as full member of the Conference of Rectors of AUF member universities in the Asia-Pacific region (CONFRASIE) on January 18, 2019.
+ QNU received notice of changing its membership role, becoming an associate member of the AUF on February 7, 2022.
+ Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My attended the 14th General Assembly of the Conference of Rectors of AUF member units in the region (CONFRASIE) held for 2 days (October 11 - 12, 2023).
The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Laurent Sermet - Director of AUF - Asia Pacific Region, Dr. Nguyen Tan Dai - in charge of AUF's Center for Francophone Digital Education (CNF) and Francophone Career Center (CEF) in Ho Chi Minh City, MSc. Tran Cong Danh, an expert at financial & start-up affairs.
