UY - Continuing the success of international voluntary programs, from 15th to 22nd July 2019, the youth of Quy Nhon University (QNU) organized a voluntary program "Voluntary Fire Without Borders" in Champasak province, Lao People’s Democratic Republic. This was the activity of implementing the plan to conduct the 2019 Summer Volunteer Youth Campaign; At the same time, it promoted the spirit of vanguard and volunteerism of Binh Dinh youth and students in participatiing in socio-economic development work, helping disadvantaged people in Champasak province in the Lao People's Democratic Republic, which helped improve friendship between QNU youth and students and Laotian ones.

The delegation of this year’s International Voluntary Program to Champasak Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic consisted of 15 volunteers, who were QNU’s YU members and volunteer students led by Nguyen Khac Khanh - Secretary of the QNU YU. This was the 4th time the program had been carried out in Champasak province and it is also an activity aimed at promoting the tradition of the University’s youth since it was initiated in 2007.

The international voluntary activities of the delegation were held in two primary schools: Pakse and Banthong in Pakse city, Champasak province. The delegation gave each school 01 set of computers, 01 printer, 04 printed cartons, 50 bags of gift for students and repainted all the desks and chairs with a total value of 50 million VND (about US$2,100). This effective and practical act helped bring joy to the teachers. and the students of the schools.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr Oudomsak Divixay - Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union of Champasak province acknowledged and appreciated the spirit of volunteerism and support of QNU's youth. He affirmed that it was one of the activities that contributed to strengthening and strengthening the friendship and solidarity between QNU and Champasak province in particular and the friendship between the two countries of Vietnam - Laos in general. He also hoped that the activity would continue and was always ready to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese students to organize voluntary activities in the province”.

Within the framework of the activity, the Volunteer Delegation had an unexpected exchange with some QNU Laotian alumni. Through the meeting, it is known that most of the Laotian students from the province who graduated from QNU, when they returned to their native localities have found jobs and have been assigned important positions of reponsibility in the provincial agencies. In the next volunteer missions, the delegation will coordinate with the alumni to carry out volunteer activities to mobilize additional resources and necessary assistance.
