Quy Nhon University’s 4rd Quarter, 2022 News Review has the following top news and major events:
1. QNU’s Admissions Plans in 2023
At the Quarter 4, 2022 meeting of QNU’s University Council, the admissions plans for 2023 was approved. Under these plans, QNU will offer 48 full-time undergraduate programs, 01 high-quality program, 03 programs in partnership with the University of Birmingham (UK) with a total of 5,879 candidates, of whom 1,874 candidates enroll in pedagogical programs.
For part-time programs, QNU offers 26 programs, whose admissions quotas depend on those of full-time programs, of which non-pedagogical and pedagogical programs account for 30% and 50% respectively. For graduate programs, QNU plans to enroll 1,125 candidates for 23 Master's programs and 15 candidates for three doctoral ones.
2. Training course on self-appraisal of training programs
To implement its education quality assurance plan for the academic year 2022 - 2023, QNU ran a training course on self-appraisal of the quality of 4 undergrduate programs: Literature Education, Agriculture, Hotel Management, Electronics - Telecommunications Engineering and 01 Master’s program: Data Science according to the set of standards for evaluating the quality of training programs promulgated together with Circular 04/2016 of the Ministry of Education and Training. The training course aims to get the necessary conditions ready for self-appraisal and specialized groups in terms of knowledge and experience in implementing self-appraisal of program quality, registering for independent appraisal of some programs and proposing that these programs meet the education quality standards in 2023.
3. QNU’s first 02 Master's programs have been accredited
On December 24, the Education Accreditation Center - the University of Danang held the 15th session of the Education Accreditation Council to appraise the results of independent appraisal and recognize that 02 Master’s programs in Accounting and Solid state Physics had met the education quality standards promulgated by the Minister of Education and Training.
These are QNU’s first two accredited Master's programs. This accreditation serves as the basis for QNU to implement the admissions plan for these two doctoral programs in the academic year 2022 - 2023.
4. QNU meets with PNE Corp
On November 22, Mr. Thorsten Fastenau - Executive Vice President, Director of Offshore Wind Power of PNE Corp (Germany) paid a working visit to QNU on the offshore wind power project expected to be implemented in Binh Dinh in the near future. This project not only helps to increase Binh Dinh's electricity production, but also contributes to industrial development, creating job opportunities for QNU students in particular and local people in general.
5. Open Day 2022
As one of the international cooperation programs sponsored by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Community, the MOMA project was launched in January 2019 with a view to improving the training capacity of QNU in the fields of chemistry and physics and awakening a passion for science in the young generation.
The MOMA project has been implemented in the fourth quarter of 2022. Notably, the project has cooperateed with QNU in organizing the 3rd Science Experience Day - Open Day 2022. This is one of the activities connecting QNU with Binh Dinh-based high schools. The event attracted more than 250 students, parents and children who love science in Quy Nhon City. The MOMA project will officially come to an end on January 14, 2023.
6. Application of scientific research on tourism brand development in Binh Dinh
In recent years, QNU’s scientific research has had a wide range of applications in practice. Many scientific research topics at all levels have been applied locally and nationally, especially in the fields of tourism, healthcare, agriculture, etc., such as applying OPAC software in medicine, nano fertilizers to growing corn to raise dairy cows.
Recently, on December 25, the Science and Technology Council of Binh Dinh province held an acceptance test of the results of the implementation of the project "Research on communication strategies to develop Binh Dinh tourism brand to 2025, orientation to 2030" led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My and MSc. Le Thi Vinh Huong. The project successfully built the criteria and proposed the tourism brand identity of Binh Dinh, and executed an overall strategy for communication and development of Binh Dinh tourism brand to 2025, with orientation to 2030.
The project was highly appreciated, and proposed to be applied to Binh Dinh province.
7. Summarizing the emulation movement and commending outstanding students
In order to acknowledge and praise the achievements recorded by the groups and individuals in the academic year 2021 - 2022, QNU presented Certificates of Merit and awards to 46 classes that achieved the title of "Excellent Class”, "Good Class". At the same time, QNU also rewarded 41 monitors for their excellent achievements in class management, 120 students for winning the title of "Excellent Student" and 1,221 students for winning the title "Good Student".
8. Activities conducted to celebrate QNU’s 45th founding anniversary
December 21 every year is an occasion for all of QNU’s staff to celebrate its founding anniversary. The year 2022 marks 45 years of QNU on the journey of building and development. Towards this special event, QNU organized many activities for its officials, employees and learners. This is an opportunity for QNU's leadership to express their gratitude to generations of leaders, officials, employees and generations of learners who have built and remained attached to QNU, step by step affirming its status and brand of QNU with the core values of Responsibility - Professionalism - Quality - Creativity - Humanity.
On this occasion, QNU awarded an honorary doctorate to Prof. Dr. Michel Théra at the University of Limoges (France) in recognition of his contribution to QNU’s training and scientific research.
9. Implementing the building of the entrance gate of QNU
In the fourth quarter of 2022, QNU implemented the building of the entrance gate based on the Entrance Gate design idea for QNU that won the first prize in the QNU Entrance Gate Design Ideas Contest held by QNU in March 2022. The project is expected to be a symbol connecting the space of QNU as well as that of Quy Nhon City. Currently, the work was completed according to the overall design and space of QNU.
The year 2022 marks a remarkable transformation of QNU in terms of not only facilities but also training activities, scientific research, international cooperation and community service.
