1. QNU Science and Technology Day
QNU Science and Technology Day 2024 was held on June 13 to sum up QNU's science and technology activities in the 2023 - 2024 academic year, and propose solutions and directions to promote science and technology activities and innovation in the University in the years to come.
In the 2023 - 2024 academic year, the science and technology activities of officials and lecturers are constantly being developed and enhanced. The research results of the topics have not only manifested themselves in prestigious articles and books for training, but they have also been associated with practice and potential for development into applied products and technology transfer. This is an important premise for QNU to cooperate with domestic and foreign businesses and establish science and technology enterprises within the University in the time to come.
2. International cooperation in training and research: QNU Signs MoU with South Korean, Japanese and India partners
QNU's international cooperation activities are increasingly developing, actively serving to improve the quality of training and research. In the second quarter of 2024, QNU has connected and cooperated with Japanese and South Korean partners.
Regarding international cooperation, on April 17, QNU signed a memorandum of cooperation with Bluebird Goudou Kaisha Company (Japan) on a paid internship program in Japan lasting from 6 to 12 months for its second- and third-year students of Japanese studies, tourism - hospitality and automotive technology. When completing the internship program, QNU graduates will have the opportunity to be hired by Japanese businesses.
Within the framework of a working visit to Binh Dinh province, on June 28, Mr. Mori Takero - Consul General of Japan in Da Nang met with QNU leaders. The two parties had a preliminary discussion on cooperation in the field of Japanese language training at the University.
On May 27, QNU also signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Business Administration and Graduate School of Business, Chonnam National University (South Korea) to cooperate in training, research, and implementation of internship program for its students, exchange of lecturers, students, and doctoral students. At the same time, the two sides would also cooperate in organizing and participating in seminars, symposiums, and short-term academic programmes in business administration.
On the afternoon of June 25, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My - QNU Rector, attended the conference on promoting investment, trade and tourism in Binh Dinh province with Indian partners. At the event, a cooperation agreement between the local authorities and Indian partners and a memorandum of understanding between Quy Nhon University and the Indian Robotics Association were signed.
Under the memorandum of understanding, Quy Nhon University and the Indian Robotics Association will jointly provide assistance for Vietnamese students in starting a business in the field of robotics - automation, artificial intelligence and exchanging human resources training.
4. QNU Job Fair 2024
QNU Job Fair 2024 took place on May 18, bringing about more than 1,600 jobs with 31 businesses across the country participating in recruitment in many different fields, helping QNU students have the opportunity to interact, demonstrate their abilities and find job opportunities.
With good preparations, QNU graduates are welcomed by many businesses and highly appreciated for their trained skills. According to the survey, the satisfaction rate of employers with QNU graduates in 2024 is more than 80%.
5. QNU students receive Kurz scholarships
On April 26, QNU in cooperation with Kurz Vietnam Co., Ltd. awarded 18 students scholarships with a total sponsorship value of 800 million VND (US$32,000) in the period 2023 - 2026. Scholarship is awarded according to the academic year. It was the first academic year when Kurz Vietnam Co., Ltd. and QNU carried out this scholarship program to encourage QNU’s disadvantaged students to strive for better academic achievements.
In the 2023-2024 academic year, QNU’s 18 students in the fields of Control and Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics - Telecommunications and Chemical Engineering Technology have been awarded 18 scholarships with a total value of 300 million VND (US$12,000).
6. QNU’s University Council’s Quarter 2, 2024 Meeting
Approval of the 2025 Financial Plan is one of the important agenda items in the Quarter 2, 2024 Meeting of QNU’s University Council. In addition, the University Council also approved the policy of offering a programme in Mechanical and Dynamics Engineering, providing university-level training; Approving the Financial Report and Funding Finalization Report for the University's legal revenue sources in 2023 (first time).
7. Information on Admission to full-time undergraduate and doctoral programmes in 2024
In the second quarter of 2024, QNU has successfully cooperated in administering aptitude tests to serve the university admission 2024. Results from the aptitude tests are used for admission to colleges and universities including QNU.
From April 20 to June 20, QNU opened the registration portal for early admission by reviewing high school transcripts and 2024 aptitude test scores. After June 20, the University will send notification of admissions results via email address for its candidates.
Regarding doctoral programmes, this year, QNU will enrol 15 doctoral students for 3 programmes: analytical mathematics, algebra and number theory, theoretical chemistry and physical chemistry. In the near future, the University plans to offer a number of new doctoral programmes to train highly qualified human resources for Central Vietnam, the Central Highlands and the whole country.
