1. QNU’s University Council’s Quarter 3, 2023 meeting
The news review opens with one of the key contents of the Quarter 3, 2023 meeting of the University Council.
At this meeting, the University Council discussed and approved the proposed amendments and promulgated the Regulations on Organization and Operation; Regulations on Recruitment and Management of Employees; Democratic Regulations on Quy Nhon University's Operations in compliance with the law. In addition, the University Council also agreed to use the results of mid-term votes of confidence held by the University's Leadership Team as required by Regulation No. 96-QD/TW as the results of mid-term votes of confidence for the President of the University Council and the Rector.
2. Work of Education quality accreditation
Regarding the education quality accreditation, in the 2023-2024 academic year, QNU will continue to carry out a self-assessment and an external assessment of a number of training programs according to domestic and foreign standards. More specifically, an external assessment of the quality of 04 undergraduate programs: Literature Education, Agronomy, Hotel Management, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering and a self-assessment of the quality of the programs: English Education, Travel and Tourism Service Management by the Ministry of Education and Training’s standards. At the same time, a self-assessment will also be conducted of the quality of the undergraduate programs: Economics and Business Administration according to AUN-QA Assessment at Program Level (version 4.0).
3. QNU’s Course 46 new students complete their enrolment procedures
In the 2023 - 2024 academic year, QNU welcomed 4,106 Course 46 students. The number of students enrolling at QNU in the last 3 years has increased continuously, demonstrating QNU’s prestige and its training quality.
In the context of increasing demand for local human resources, QNU always strives to promote existing strengths; application-oriented training and grasping trends quickly.
In addition, it also cooperates with organizations and businesses, both at home and abroad, in training human resources, aiming to serve the community, which helps turns QNU into a place that future generations of high school students across Viet Nam come to pursue their dreams.
Currently, QNU’s Course 46 new students have started their first semester of the 2023 - 2024 academic year. The opening ceremony of the new academic year will be held on October 2, 2023.
4. QNU receives a scholarship fund of 800 million VND (US$32,000) from KURZ Vietnam LLC
On the occasion of the inauguration of the first thin-film factory in Vietnam on September 8, 2023, KURZ Vietnam Co., Ltd. presented QNU with a "KURZ Scholarship Fund" worth 800 million VND (US$32,000).
This scholarship fund partly demonstrates KURZ's commitment to contributing to sustainable development with the local community. More specifically, QNU and Van Canh District (Binh Dinh province) are also the only two entities to be presented with sponsorship money by KURZ on the occasion of the inauguration of its new factory.
In addition to serving the community, QNU always accompanies enterprises in training and providing high quality human resources. We also hope to continue to cooperate with KURZ Group in general and KURZ Vietnam Co., Ltd. in particular in training and supplying high quality human resources.
5. "2023 International Summer School in Mathematical Physics" and "Central Region Physics Conference" first held in QNU
With its training strength and achievements in the fields of Mathematics and Physics, in the third quarter of 2023, QNU was honored to be chosen to host the 2023 International Physics - Mathematics Summer School and the 2023 Central Region Physics Conference. These are two highly academic events with the participation of many domestic and foreign scientists and experts, bringing useful knowledge to a large number of students, lecturers and postgraduate students.
6. UNESCO-UNITWIN
In the third quarter of 2023, QNU cooperated with Sookmyung Women's University (South Korea) in organizing the UNESCO-UNITWIN program. At the end of the program, QNU selected 06 excellent female students to attend the Hackathon 2023 organized in Seoul (South Korea) in November 2023.
The UNESCO-UNITWIN program is organized annually and any of QNU’s female students can participate in the initial admission round of the program. 7. Interns from Belgium come to QNU as part of IUC-QNU Program
Implementing the MOU agreement between QNU and Ghent University (Belgium), in the third quarter of 2023, QNU received 04 students to do internships. During the 3-month internship, these interns participated in designing and running Elearning courses.
