DLR - On July 14, 2025, Quy Nhon University officially launched a free Korean language class for the local community, marking a significant step forward in fostering cultural and educational ties between Vietnam and South Korea. The opening ceremony was not only the beginning of a language course but also the start of a journey for learners to explore a new culture, broaden their horizons, and unlock future academic and career opportunities.
This Korean language course is held under the framework of a collaboration between Quy Nhon University and the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City. It is the direct result of a cooperation agreement signed in April 2025, reflecting the strong bond and shared commitment to spreading knowledge and promoting cultural exchange between the two nations. With two levels—Beginner and Intermediate—the program is professionally designed based on the official curriculum of the Korean Ministry of Education, lasting 15 weeks with a total of 60 instructional hours.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Duc Tung – Rector of the University – delivered a speech
A distinctive feature of the program is its deep humanitarian spirit, as it broadens learning opportunities for people from all walks of life. From primary school students, university students, and public employees to workers and Korean language enthusiasts—everyone is welcome to join the course free of charge. During the enrollment period, the program received strong interest from the community, with early registrations and enthusiastic participation in both classes.

Mr. Kil Ho Jin – Director of the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City –addressed the event
This event also serves as a testament to Quy Nhon University's role in promoting international cooperation and advancing sustainable educational values. For nearly 30 years, the city of Quy Nhon and Yongsan District in Seoul, South Korea, have maintained a strong sister-city relationship. Building on this foundation, Quy Nhon University has continuously expanded its partnerships with numerous Korean universities—such as Chonnam National University, Sookmyung Women’s University, Ewha Womans University, and Hanyang University—through student and faculty exchanges as well as academic research collaborations.
