(DLR) – The first days on campus often bring a mix of excitement and unfamiliarity for Cohort 48, especially as students adjust to a new academic environment and engage in training and research activities. To help the cohort integrate quickly and grow holistically, Quy Nhon University held the Orientation and Citizenship Week from September 8 to 18, 2025, in Halls A and B, welcoming more than 5,000 students from Cohort 48. As an annual initiative, the program plays a vital role in setting direction and equipping students with essential knowledge and foundational skills as they embark on the new academic year.
During the program, the University’s Board of Rectors would brief freshmen on QNU’s history, traditions, and development roadmap for 2025–2030, with a vision to 2045.
At the same time, key priorities of the education sector and of QNU for the 2025 - 2026 academic year would be outlined, helping Cohort 48 clearly understand their roles and responsibilities in study and personal development.

Intellectual toolkit for the first steps
One of the core components of the week is the briefing on academic regulations, the credit-based system, and guidance on course registration. This serves as a starting point for students to familiarize themselves with university learning methods and to build a personal study plan that fits their goals. In addition, the Office of Student Affairs and Corporate Partnerships provided information on student management, welfare policies, scholarships, and student conduct requirements, while offering career guidance, employability support, soft-skill development, and innovation–startup opportunities - essential tools to help the cohort move forward with confidence.

In addition, the Center for Digital Services and Learning Resources introduced students to effective ways of leveraging the library’s holdings, as well as using the e-learning platform, email, campus Wi Fi, and other digital services that supported their studies. The Youth Union and Student Association also provided useful information on the meaning and responsibilities of participating in Union–Association activities, along with opportunities to join clubs, teams, and groups to build life skills and develop personal talents.
At the first-year Orientation and Citizenship Week, the Gia Lai Provincial Police delivered a direct briefing on the Cybersecurity Law, skills for identifying online risks, how to avoid digital fraud, and warnings about social ills, pyramid schemes in new guises, and other harmful activities. This is a highly practical component that gives students an extra “shield” to protect themselves in the digital environment.
Throughout the week, the themed sessions were designed to be engaging, blending theoretical sharing with open dialogue to create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. With the support of university leaders, faculty, staff, and partner units, Cohort 48 not only gained essential knowledge and skills but also felt the strong commitment and companionship of Quy Nhon University in these first steps of their journey.
