The National Mathematics Olympiad for Students is an annual competition organized by the Vietnam Mathematical Society in collaboration with leading educational institutions across the country, under the patronage of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Vietnam National Student Association. Beyond its role in identifying and nurturing mathematical talent, the competition serves as an academic bridge — cultivating an environment of exchange and connection among generations of students and educators from every corner of the nation.

The symposium on "Applying AI Tools in the Teaching and Learning of University-Level Mathematics" was held on April 10, 2026.
Alongside the main competition, a rich programme of engaging and meaningful activities helped foster a vibrant and collegial academic atmosphere. Most notably, a symposium on "Applying AI Tools in the Teaching and Learning of University-Level Mathematics" drew considerable interest from both lecturers and students, sparking fresh perspectives on the integration of artificial intelligence into mathematical education. The forum provided a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, stay abreast of emerging technological trends, and explore ways to enhance teaching effectiveness in the age of digital transformation. Adding energy and camaraderie to the occasion, a friendly football tournament between student delegations was also held, delivering spirited matches that allowed participants to not only stay physically active but also strengthen bonds of solidarity and friendship across institutions.

Demonstrating Excellence Through Outstanding Results
Quy Nhon University fielded a team of six students this year, drawn from the Mathematics Education and Applied Mathematics programmes, four of whom competed in both the Algebra and Analysis categories. Under the dedicated guidance of their supervising lecturers, the team undertook thorough and systematic preparation and brought to the competition a spirit of seriousness, initiative, and intellectual commitment. Their efforts were rewarded with commendable results across both disciplines: a total of 3 Second Prizes and 5 Third Prizes (Algebra: 2 Second Prizes and 2 Third Prizes; Analysis: 1 Second Prize and 3 Third Prizes). These achievements stand as a testament not only to the sustained dedication of each individual student, but also to the effectiveness of QNU's academic training and talent development programmes.
QNU's consistent presence and strong performance across successive national Mathematics Olympiads have solidified its reputation within the higher education landscape. This track record also serves as a powerful incentive for the university to continue investing in and nurturing students with strong research potential, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the ever-growing demands of society.
