DLR -Quy Nhon University’s 2025 Science and Technology Day was held on May 16, 2025. This annual event serves as a significant occasion to review the university’s scientific and technological activities over the 2024–2025 academic year, honor outstanding individuals and collectives for their achievements in research, and set strategic directions for the development of science and technology in the upcoming academic year of 2025–2026.

Dr. Hà Thanh Hải, Vice President of the University, delivered the opening address and provided strategic guidance at the event
At the event, delegates attended presentations summarizing QNU's scientific and technological activities for the 2024–2025 academic year, along with scientific reports delivered by faculty and student representatives.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Tiến Trung, Head of the Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, presented the summary report on QNU’s science and technology activities for the 2024–2025 academic year
During the 2024–2025 academic year, the University achieved remarkable accomplishments in science and technology, marked by a significant number of research projects at the national, ministerial, and provincial levels. The total number of projects increased compared to the previous academic year. Notably, there was also a steady rise in practical application products that support the development of businesses, local communities, and the nation, along with a growing number of patents and utility solutions. Of particular significance was the substantial increase in both the quantity and quality of research papers published in prestigious international journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus.
International collaboration continued to thrive, with numerous projects and programs launched in partnership with renowned universities across Europe and Asia. These initiatives were supported by organizations such as VLIR-UOS (Belgium), AUF, the European Union, and South Korea, and have been effectively implemented at the University. A highlight of these efforts is the successful implementation of the IUC-QNU Program (2022–2027), funded by VLIR-UOS (Belgium), which is now entering its third year (September 1, 2024 – August 31, 2025). The program encompasses seven sub-projects—five focused on applied research and two on capacity building. These achievements are the result of the concerted efforts and dedication of the faculty and students, as well as the close guidance and leadership of the University's executive board.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thị Diệu Cẩm (Faculty of Natural Sciences), Dr. Phạm Trần Trúc Viên (Faculty of Finance, Banking & Business Administration), and student Đỗ Hồng Hạnh (Physics Education, Cohort 44) delivered scientific presentations during the closing session
To further enhance the depth, quality, and effectiveness of its scientific and technological activities—particularly in alignment with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthrough development in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation— QNU has outlined several key strategies and directions for the coming period. The University will continue to revise and promulgate regulations on the management of science, technology, and innovation activities with a focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness, simplifying administrative procedures, and emphasizing results and tangible outputs.
Alongside ongoing investments in fundamental research, the University will also expand applied research initiatives, intensify technology transfer and product commercialization efforts, and strengthen intellectual property management, including the establishment of science and technology enterprises. These initiatives aim to ensure the sustainable development of the University while effectively contributing to regional and national socio-economic advancement. Additional priorities include the development of research groups—especially strong and specialized teams—the investment in the University’s scientific journal with the goal of inclusion in regional and international citation databases, and the expansion of collaboration through the organization of national and international conferences and symposia.

The poster exhibition and award ceremony, held on the morning of May 16, created a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere, attracting a large number of students and faculty from QNU
Speaking at the closing session, Dr. Hà Thanh Hải – Vice President of Quy Nhon University – expressed his pleasure in joining colleagues to reflect on and honor the significant contributions of those engaged in science and technology work. He acknowledged and highly appreciated the silent yet dedicated efforts of staff members who served as inspirational role models, spreading a spirit of research across the university community, especially among students.
In light of the recent issuance of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, Dr. Hà emphasized that this is a favorable moment for Quy Nhon University to further strengthen its research activities and apply scientific findings to real-world contexts, thereby contributing to both local and national socio-economic development. He underscored that the responsibility of a higher education institution goes beyond training human resources—it must also ignite and nurture a love for science and a passion for innovation in every individual. The University will continue promoting applied research, while enhancing the quality of existing fundamental research and fostering specialized, interdisciplinary research directions.
Dr. Hải also shared that QNU is currently laying the groundwork for the establishment of an Innovation Center. This Center will support students in developing research skills, expanding career opportunities, and reinforcing the role of scientific research within undergraduate education.

The University leadership presented awards to individuals and collectives for their outstanding achievements in science, technology, and innovation during the 2024–2025 academic year
