ICT - In two days, 26 - 27 July, 2023, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My - Rector of Quy Nhon University (QNU) attended the conference with the theme of “The 5-year milestone for the Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VINIF)” held in Hanoi. The workshop aimed to look back at the implementation of sponsorship programs, pay tribute to dedicated scientists, and connect with funds, businesses, managers and experts to discuss development orientations for VINIF in the future. The event was also an opportunity for scientists to connect to improve the quality of research and jointly bring science and technology products to market.

At the conference, many programs and activities scientifically, culturally and historically significant to projects and VINIF-sponsored candidates and host agencies, organizations and training institutions were organized. Typical were two workshops "Promoting research, application and heading towards commercialization of science and technology products" and "Opportunities, challenges and solutions to scientific research and training", with the participation of former leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology, leaders of universities, research institutes, scientists, scholars and businessmen.

Since 2020, QNU and VINIF have been implementing many effective cooperation activities. VINIF has sponsored a Master's program in Data Science at QNU with a budget of 2 billion VND (US$80,000)/year, and 02 scientific and technological projects in the fields of Mathematics and Science Biomedical.

Of the sponsored projects, the research topic "Some new directions of analysis of harmonics, optimization and control with applications in data analysis and industry" led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Huynh Van Ngai was overwhelmingly approved in March 2023.

The project “Single-chain gonadotropins production for fertility treatments” led by Assoc.Prof.D.Sc. Nguyen Thi Mong Diep, is one of the collaborative projects with the research group headed by Prof. Yves Combarnous at INRAe_CNRS. The project has reached the optimization stage for the production of this single-chain hormone for application to assisted reproductive technology in Vietnam.
The success of the scientific projects sponsored by a nationally prestigious science fund like VINIF, carried out by QNU’s research groups has proved its research capacity. The cooperation between VINIF and QNU not only improves scientists’ research capacity but also helps make an orientation of products and technology solutions that bring practical benefits to the community. At the same time, this cooperation also aims to build an ecosystem to promote applied research, connect researchers, research institutes, universities with enterprises.
