DLR - Against the backdrop of increasingly deep and wide-ranging international cooperation, Quy Nhon University hosted a working visit by Dr. Vipra Pandey, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, on the morning of January 28. On this occasion, the two parties also held an inauguration ceremony for the India Corner at the university's library — a dedicated academic and cultural space, rich in intellectual resources and symbolic of the enduring friendship between Vietnam and India.
The working session was conducted in a spirit of openness, cooperation, and mutual goodwill, with discussions centered on strengthening collaboration in the areas of training, human resource development, academic exchange, and technology transfer between Quy Nhon University and educational institutions and research institutes in India.

Speaking at the event,Dr. Ha Thanh Hai, Vice Rector of Quy Nhon University, expressed his sincere appreciation for the visit by Dr. Vipra Pandey, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, and affirmed that the occasion holds great significance in advancing educational cooperation and cultural exchange between Vietnam and India. The Vice Rector also noted that the establishment of the India Corner stands as a vivid testament to the time-honored friendship between the two nations — one in which education is regarded as a lasting bridge connecting future generations.
"Vietnam and India have shared diplomatic ties stretching back thousands of years through cultural, religious, and maritime exchanges. In the digital age, this friendship has only grown stronger, elevating the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. India's universities and research institutes are also internationally recognized for their strengths in fields such as information technology, engineering, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, renewable energy, and digital transformation — all of which are priority areas for the development of Vietnam's South-Central Coast and Central Highlands regions. Deepening cooperation between Quy Nhon University and Indian partners will therefore open up significant opportunities for joint research, student and faculty exchange, technology transfer, and skills development that directly address the practical needs of this region," Dr. Ha Thanh Hai emphasized at the working session.

The Vice Rector expressed his hope that the India Corner would grow into a vibrant, open space for academic and cultural engagement — offering a rich and diverse collection of resources about India, nurturing a global outlook among students, and laying the groundwork for enduring cooperation between QNU and its Indian partners.
During the working session, the two parties also discussed the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme, a Government of India initiative that funds short-term training courses for lecturers, officials, and professionals. The Consul General provided an overview of the programme and engaged in a dialogue with the university about the possibility of QNU's lecturers participating in courses suited to their areas of expertise and practical needs, thereby enhancing their professional competencies and teaching methodologies.

The two sides also reached an agreement to explore the Immersion Programme, which encompasses student and faculty exchange activities designed to enrich academic experiences, provide exposure to international educational and research environments, and strengthen participants' capacity for global integration.
In addition, the two parties discussed a proposal to jointly organize artificial intelligence (AI) workshops in collaboration with the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). These workshops, envisioned to be taught directly by IIT faculty members, would target both students and working professionals, with a focus on the practical application of AI tools in learning and in the workplace. Upon completion, participants may be considered for certificates jointly issued by the IITs and their cooperating partners. The working session concluded on a warm and constructive note, reflecting a strong consensus and shared commitment between both parties to advancing concrete, practical, and sustainable cooperative programmes in the period ahead.

University representatives extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Consulate General for its support and engagement in bringing this space to life, while underscoring the India Corner's role in promoting research, academic exchange, and cross-cultural understanding among students in the context of modern education.
The India Corner model had previously been established at several other Vietnamese universities, including the University of Science (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City), Hong Bang International University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, and Hoa Sen University, among others. Quy Nhon University's official launch of its own India Corner further affirms the growing momentum of Vietnam–India educational cooperation and cultural exchange across the Vietnamese higher education system.
