On December 19, 2025, the Institute for Non-Traditional Security Studies (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), in coordination with the Gia Lai Provincial Police and Quy Nhon University, organized the scientific workshop “Consultation on Developing Preventive and Response Measures to Ensure Marine Environmental Security in Gia Lai Province.”
🌱 At the workshop, Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Duyen, M.A., a lecturer of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), presented a paper entitled “The Impact of Tourism Development on Marine Environmental Security in Gia Lai Province.”
🌱 With the advantage of a 134-kilometer coastline and abundant marine tourism resources, the coastal areas have attracted an increasing number of domestic and international tourists to Binh Dinh Province (now Gia Lai Province). However, the rapid and insufficiently controlled development of tourism activities has caused negative impacts on the coastal and marine environment. Ms. Thuy Duyen’s study aims to analyze the impacts of tourism development on marine environmental security at tourist destinations in Gia Lai Province through secondary data from previous studies, articles published in domestic and international journals, and relevant reports.
🌱 The solutions proposed in this paper not only demonstrate the close linkage between academic research and community service by FBA lecturers, but also contribute to ensuring marine environmental security and promoting sustainable tourism development in the coastal areas of the locality.
