ICT - On the afternoon of June 13, Quy Nhon University welcomed a delegation from Ashikaga City (Japan), led by Mr. Naohide Hayakawa, the Mayor of Ashikaga, who came to visit and work at the University as part of their business trip to Quy Nhon City.

During the meeting, Associate Professor, Doctor Do Ngoc My, the Rector of the University, welcomed the delegation from Ashikaga City to visit and work at the university and provided a brief overview of the training programs and research areas of Quy Nhon University, including the training and organization of Japanese language proficiency assessments. The Rector indicated that in recent years, Japanese companies have become one of the potential and strategic partners of Binh Dinh Province. Recognizing this friendly cooperative relationship, Quy Nhon University has engaged in discussions and exchanges on bilateral development issues with Japanese businesses investing in the locality. Associate Professor, Doctor Do Ngoc My expressed hope that this meeting would serve as a foundation to open up opportunities for cooperation between the university and Ashikaga City.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Naohide Hayakawa, the Mayor of Ashikaga, expressed his pleasure at visiting and working at Quy Nhon University and thanked the university's leadership for their warm welcome. Mr. Naohide Hayakawa provided information on several characteristics, geographic location, potential, and strengths in the socio-economic development of Ashikaga City in general, and Ashikaga University in particular. The Mayor expressed his desire to cooperate with QNU in various fields, especially in the strong areas of digital transformation, information technology, and nursing. “We will make efforts to connect with Quy Nhon City to promote socio-economic development and enhance cultural exchanges between our two countries,” Mayor Hayakawa shared.

Mr. Yoshitaka Suetake, the President of Ashikaga University, also introduced Ashikaga University, which has a history of over 40 years of research in the field of renewable energy. In addition, the university has strengths in training in the areas of Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and Nursing. Mr. Yoshitaka Suetake expressed the hope that in the near future, both universities will sign a cooperation agreement to enhance academic and cultural exchanges.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to exchange details to determine the development direction and cooperation in the upcoming period.
The working delegation visiting the university was led by Mr. Naohide Hayakawa, the Mayor of Ashikaga, who was accompanied by representatives of Ashikaga University, representatives from businesses in Japan, and representatives from the People's Committee of Quy Nhon City.
The delegation was welcomed by Associate Professor Dr. Do Ngoc My, the President of the university, along with representatives from the following units: Administration and General Affairs Department, Science and Technology & International Cooperation Department, Student and Political Affairs Office, the Japanese Language and Culture Center, and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.
