ICT- On the morning of November 21, Quy Nhon University (QNU) held a scientific workshop on laying down criteria for the brand identity pack of Binh Dinh tourism. The workshop was part of the framework of the scientific research topic "Research on communication strategies for promoting Binh Dinh tourism brand to 2025, orientation to 2030" undertaken by QNU. The project leader was Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My, M.A. Le Thi Vinh Huong, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, co-chair of the project together with some other QNU and non-QNU members.
Attending the workshop, on the side of QNU, were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hien – Vice Rector of QNU, Dr. Nguyen Nam Trung – Deputy Head of Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation and lecturers from the faculties of Finance, Economics and International Business, Economics and Technology, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Economics and Technology. On the side of the guests were Mr. Lam Hai Giang - Provincial Member, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Le Cong Nhuong - Member of Provincial Party Committee, Director of Binh Dinh Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Nguyen Huynh Huyen, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh - Chairwoman of Binh Dinh Science and Technology Association; Dr. Cao Tri Dung, Vice President of Vietnam Travel Association in charge of Central region - Chairman of Danang City Tourism Association; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Hoang Huu Hanh - Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Vietnam Institute of Innovation and Digital Transformation and leaders of government agencies, Binh Dinh-based tourism businesses.
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Do Ngoc My presents a report at the workshop
At the workshop, the research team presented some reports on the Binh Dinh tourism brand statement, the criteria of the brand identity pack and the design of tangible elements of the Binh Dinh tourist destination brand identity pack, including: brand name, slogan, logo. In the first report, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My said, “The goal of the project is to develop typical tourism products of Binh Dinh by 2025, with a vision to 2030, to turn tourism into a spearhead sector of Binh Dinh according to the Action Program on tourism development in Binh Dinh province to become a spearhead sector in the period of 2020 - 2025 as stated in the Resolution of the 20th Binh Dinh Provincial Party Congress that QNU was assigned the task of researching the topic by the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee".
On the basis of researching and synthesizing the theoretical basis of the brand, brand mission and related contents of a tourist destination, in order to obtain a holistic and objective view and evaluation of the tourism destinations to identify tourism brand identity for Binh Dinh, the research team conducted an in-depth interview with a lot of subjects who are knowledgeable about this field and proposed summarizing the mission of Binh Dinh tourism brand. “Innovating, creating, constantly improving the quality of tourism products in accordance with the needs of tourists; Investing in tourism infrastructure towards sustainable development; contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality where the community is the first beneficiary; cooperating with other regions and localities in the building and developing tourism exploitation chains”, Mr. My said.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang said: "The laying down of criteria for the brand identity pack of Binh Dinh tourism is a breakthrough in the province's tourism communication strategy, so it needs to be implemented methodically to obtain the desired results”. Mr. Giang also suggested that the research team should focus on the factors of exploiting the potential and advantages of tourism development associated with nature, the country and the people of Binh Dinh on the basis of the recommendations of experts, scientists, managers, etc. to complete the topic, so that the topic could be put to good use in the province's tourism development according to the motto of preserving the pristine environment and nature, ensuring the inhabitants’ lives.
At the workshop, the research team received many helpful comments from the experts from departments, agencies and tourism businesses to have multi-dimensional perspectives in order to improve the topic in the time to come.
