The division of Economics was established in 2009 under the Department of Economics and Accounting. Currently, the division is responsible for training in Economics, with a specialization in Planning-Investment Economics. In addition, the division is oriented to specialize in training Development Economics, International Economics. The lecturers are responsible for teaching courses such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Development Economics, Investment Economics, Investment Project Planning, Investment Project Management, Project Appraisal Investment, Bidding, Risk Management. The lecturers also participated in teaching courses of the divisions such as Accounting, Auditing, Finance – Banking, Business Management, Agronomy, Land Management, etc.

The division has 10 lecturers who all have obtained the Master’s degree or higher, including 5 Ph.Ds., 05 Masters (including 01 Ph.D. student who are studying in Belgium and 03 Ph.D. students who are studying in the top programs in Vietnam). All lecturers are well qualified and constantly study to improve their capacity.

With professional dedication, enthusiasm, and dynamism, the division’s lecturers all successfully complete teaching and other activities assigned by the Faculty and the University. In addition, the lecturers have actively participated in doing research and international cooperation activities, and successfully achieved some good records such as participating in scientific research projects at all levels, publishing papers in the prestigious domestic and international journals in the ISI, Scopus index categories, publishing textbooks and other teaching textbooks. Some of the research topics, which have been conducted, are behavioral economics, environmental economics, sustainable agriculture, investment economics, welfare economics, and supply chain. In the following years, the division will continue developing interdisciplinary research directions related to Circular Economy, Sharing Economics.

The lecturers have also participated in projects, practical programs and provide policy consultancy to businesses, industries, and localities. Besides that, the lecturers have participated in guiding groups of students to conduct scientific research that have achieved good achievements at all levels. The lecturers have also worked as a startup advisor for startup programs at the Quy Nhon University and Binh Dinh province.
