On the afternoon of December 4, 2020, Quy Nhon University (QNU) in cooperation with the Center for Education Accreditation - Danang University, held the closing session of the official survey for the independent appraisal of 4 programs: Preschool Education, Primary Education, Finance - Banking and Information Technology for 4 days (from December 1 - 4, 2020).
Attending the closing session, on the side of the Independent Appraisal Team (IAT), were Prof.Dr. Tran Van Nam, former Director of Danang University, IAT head, IAT members, observers from universities and colleges across the country and on the side of QNU, were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My, Rector; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Ngoan - University Council Chairman, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hien - Vice Rector, Dr. Hoang Quy Chau, Trade Union Chairwoman, Program Self-Assessment Council members, leaders of the affiliated units, faculties and students.

After 4 days working at QNU, the IAT of the Center for Education Accreditation, Danang University, made a close study of the dossiers and worked directly with QNU’s officials in charge of the specific area, interviewed different groups of subjects and surveyed QNU’s facilities. The IAT had direct contact with the officials, lecturers, students, graduate students, alumni, employees and employers during the time they worked at QNU.
At the closing ceremony, Prof.Dr. Tran Van Nam – IAT head and Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Chanh Tu presented the preliminary report on the results of the official survey for the independent appraisal. The preliminary report of the IAT clearly stated the strengths and offered some recommendations to QNU for improving the quality of the training programs according to the university quality assessment criteria set by the Ministry of Education and Training; Prof.Dr. Tran Van Nam highly appreciated the effort and thorough preparation of QNU, the active cooperation of all the officials, staff, students, alumni, enterprises and employers during the time the IAT worked at QNU.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Do Ngoc My - Rector of QNU thanked the IAT for its objective and honest assessments as well as its specific recommendation to help QNU improve the quality of its training in the coming time. At the same time, he thanked the leaders of the functional units of QNU, employees, students, graduate students, alumni and businesses, employers for their enthusiastic support during the time the IAT was conducting the official survey at QNU.

Accepting the recommendations of the IAT, the Rector of QNU said that QNU would soon develop an action plan, allocate sufficient resources to overcome the remaining limitations with its best effort, demonstrate a strong commitment to the attainment of quality. QNU would continue its efforts to achieve its stated mission to become a prestigious, highly ranked, application-oriented university in Vietnam and gradually meet the quality standards of Southeast Asia and the world.

At the end of the closing session, the IAT leader and the Rector of QNU signed the minutes of the official survey for the independent appraisal in the presence of the IAT members and QNU’s leadership.
