Implementing Directive No. 22-CT/TU dated December 10, 2012 issued by the Binh Dinh Party Committee’s Standing Board (17th tenure) on strengthening the twinning activities between localities and units on the plain with ethnic communities and implementing Circular No. 378/UBND-TH dated January 21, 2015 issued by the Chairman of Binh Dinh People's Committee on the recommendation and assignment of agencies and units on the plain on twinning themselves with ethnic communities, on May 25, 2002, the Quy Nhon University delegation led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hien and some representatives of Hamlet 3, An Vinh commune, An Lao district held a twinning ceremony at the Hamlet Cultural House.
Hamlet 3, a highland hamlet in An Vinh commune, has a difficult socio-economic life. It has 85 households with 309 inhabitants.
Participating in the twinning activity with Hamlet 3 was some representatives of WASHHNC joint-stock Company.
In attendence at the Twinning Ceremony was Mr. Bui Tien Dung, Deputy-Head of the Binh Dinh Ethnic Affairs Department and Mr. Le Van Thanh - Vice Chairman of An Lao District People's Committee, Binh Dinh Province, and representatives of the authorities of An Vinh commune and a lot of Hamlet 3 villagers.
The Twinning Ceremony was solemnly held with the main contents: Approving the Twinning Agreement; Hamlet 3 Head's speech; An Lao district leaders’ speech; Signing the Twinning Agreement.
During the ceremony, Quy Nhon University and WASHHNC Joint-Stock Company donated to the Hamlet 3 Cultural House a mobile Speaker worth VND 4,950,000, VND (US$210), 10,000,000 VND (US$450) for the Hamlet to buy supplies and equipment as well as 85 gift boxes, each worth 200,000 VND (US$10) to 85 households in the Hamlet.
At the Twinning Ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hien - Member of the Party Standing Committee, Vice Rector of Quy Nhon University said: "The twinning between the University and the Hamlet is long-term and purely humanitarian. It is an opportunity to build, strengthen and foster a good relationship between us, contributing to Hamlet 3’s socio-economic development, improving the villagers’material and spiritual life, eliminating hunger, reducing poverty, repelling backward customs and practices, etc.” Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hien also suggested: “You, Head and Secretary of the Hamlet, the prestigious people in the Hamlet need to work closely with the University to provide the University with information on the Hamlet’s implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's policies and laws, production activities and life, political security and order as well as the villagers’ wishes; jointly organize meaningful activities in the Hamlet to ensure the efficiency and practicality, creating a high consensus of the villagers.”
On the side of Hamlet 3, the representative, Mr. Dinh Van Tem - Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of Hamlet 3 emotionally responded: "The villagers of Hamle 3 are very grateful and grateful for the deep affection of Quy Nhon University and WASHHNC Joint-Stock Company. The Hamlet 3 villagers will try to develop the economy and look forward to the assistance of the University and the company so that the hamlet can reduce poverty sustainably and develop in every aspect of life."
The Quy Nhon delegation left Hamlet 3 when the Sun was hidden behind dark clouds and a torrential rain quickly set in. There was a moving parting between the villagers and the delegation on a slope with sparkling eyes, hearty handshakes and gifts wild orchids, goodbyes and promises to meet again in a near future./.
