In the academic year 2019-2020, Quy Nhon University (QNU) has had a lot of student scientific research projects of high quality which have won many ministerial-level awards.
On the afternoon of July 17, at Hall B, QNU held a conference to sum up the work of student scientific research in the academic year 2019-2020 and award the certificates of merit to the authors of research topics that won the ministerial- and university-level awards.
The conference were attended by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hien, Vice Rector of QNU; Dr. Hoang Quy Chau, President of QNU’s Trade Union, Mr. Cao Ky Nam, Secretary of QNU’s Youth Union together with leaders of some of QNU’s units, lecturers and students.
Compared to some previous years, in the 2019-2020 academic year, QNU has had a lot of articles published in prestigious scientific journals, or produced many practical models and products which help to solve some local specific problems. QNU students know how to apply scientific research to solving a number of scientific and practical issues.
Of 72 student scientific research projects approved and financed by the university, 68 were at department-level, 20 projects winning the university-level scientific research student award (of which there were 5 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 7 third prizes) and 2 projects winning the "Ministerial-level Student Science Research" Award 2019.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hien, Vice Rector of QNU congratulated the students on winning the award and emphasized the motivation of students in the current period, adding that the Departments needed to pay more attention to the work of student scientific research, encouraging students in scientific research.
Two topics that won the "Ministerial-level Student Scientific Research” Award were the research topic "Researching the factors that affect profit management of unlisted public companies at Hanoi Stock Exchange" (3rd Prize) and the research topic "Researching the social responsibility of Quy Nhon city-based construction stone-exploiting enterprises in the direction of sustainable development" (consolation prize).

In 2020, QNU also selected five excellent research topics to attend the "Ministerial-level Student Scientific Research” Award 2020. These are all practical and highly applied research topics. Through participation in scientific research projects, students can approach and learn how to apply scientific research methods to solving scientific and practical issues, forming teamwork skills, and promoting their dynamism and creativity.
Student Scientific research is one of the important orientations contributing to improving QNU’s training quality, as well as discovering and fostering talents for the country, creating new knowledge and products for the society.
