Department of Science-Technology & International Affairs - Implementing the cooperation memorandum signed between Sookmyung Women's University (South Korea) and Quy Nhon University on January 16, 2017 on jointly participating in the University Network Program UNITWIN chaired by Sookmyung Women's University and jointly developing academic programs and cultural exchanges in the field of education and research to realize the Program's objectives, on the morning of July 8, 2019, the UNESCO-UNITWIN 2019 Program with the theme "Enhancing the status of women through the Training of Information Technology and Leadership Capacity" was officially opened at Quy Nhon University.

Under the agreement, the program was made available to Quy Nhon University’s 80 excellent female students eligible to participate in one of the two training courses in information and communications technology (ICT) or leadership offered at the University from July 8-12, 2019. The content of the training program is created on the basis of joint research and investigation of the two universities on two training areas. Top professors and experts from Sookmyung Women's University, South Korea will directly train the female students of Quy Nhon University. In addition, the training program also has the cooperation of two businesswomen: Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council and Ms. Vo Thi Minh An, Branch Manager of the Danang-based Le Nguyen Law Company. the Two business women will participate in giving lectures and inspire students at one session in the series of training courses in leadership. At the end of the course, the eligible students will be awarded the Program certificate and the 8 most outstanding students of the two training courses will be sent to compete with competitors from other partner countries in a contest that takes place in Seoul, South Korea at the end of this year.

introduces the UNESCO-UNITWIN program
Some information about the Program:
UNESCO-UNITWIN Program was established in 1992 at the 26th session of UNESCO. The purpose of this program was to build the capacity of research and higher education institutions through the exchanging and sharing of knowledge. UNESCO appoints host units in various multidisciplinary fields to provide a collaborative platform in partner universities in the areas of training, research and academic exchange.
The UNESCO-UNITWIN program, chaired by the Asia-Pacific Women's Information Network Center (APWINC), under the theme of "Empowering women through IT skills and leadership started in 2016 with the official participation of four member universities from South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and Cambodia. In 2018, Quy Nhon University of Vietnam was honored to become an official member of this program. In July 2019, the program officially started to be implemented at Quy Nhon University.
The UNESCO-UNITWIN 2019 Program was co-organized by Quy Nhon University and the Asia-Pacific Women's Information Network Center (APWINC) of Sookmyung Women's University. The program is sponsored by UNESCO and funded by the Korean Ministry of Education.
