1. Regarding the training
Since 2013, Quy Nhon University (QNU) has always focused on developing deep cooperation in training and scientific research with higher-education institutions, organizations and research institutes around the world. QNU has received many grants for training and capacity building projects such as English Teaching Asistance Program (FHI360 - USA, English Language Institute - USA), English Access Microscholarship Program (U.S. Department of State, Office of Culture and Education); Facility to Capacity Building (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven - Belgium);
Internship Program (Daiwa Resort Joint Stock Company, Japan), UNESCO-UNITWIN 2019 Program “Enhancing the position of women through information technology education and leadership skills” (Korean Ministry of Education National). In addition, many Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) and bilateral cooperation agreements in training, research, and exchange of lecturers, etc., have been signed and effectively implemented between QNU and prestigious universities such as KU Leuven University, Belgium; University of Évora, Portugal; Camerino University, Italy; Ryukoku University, Japan; Sookmyung Women's University, Korea, etc. This helps bring QNU’s lecturers and students many opportunities to study, exchange academics, research, practice, etc. to expand their knowledge as well as access to the world’s advanced academic environment.
QNU has trained Lao students since 2002. The total number of students trained at QNU has gone up to more than 1000. Currently, about 100 students are studying at the University at both undergraduate and graduate level. With nearly 20 years’ experience in Vietnamese language training for Lao students, QNU has made plans to offer 2 programs in Vietnamese and Oriental studies for foreign students wishing to study at the University in the near future.
2. Regarding the work of ensuring and improving training quality
QNU has received a lot of financial asisstance for its projects on training quality improvement such as the South Initiatives Project in 2014 on “Building a new Master program in Chemistry and Theoretical Chemistry at the University. Quy Nhon, Vietnam ”(VLIR-UOS, Belgium), South Initiatives Project 2018 on“ Improving training and research program in master's program in solid state physics at QNU” (VLIR-UOS, Belgium), TEAM Project on “Strengthening the capacity of QNU- Vietnam in solving local problems by building a doctoral training program” (Organization VLIR-UOS, Belgium), MOMA project on “Program development in molecular science and research oriented materials” (European Commission). These projects are of great significance in ensuring and improving the quality of the training programs of QNU.
3. Regarding the visit, exchange of students, lecturers, administrators in education, training and vocational training
Through cooperation projects and programs, the University has organized many missions for research cooperation, scientific exchange, learning from institutions in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, etc. At the same time, the University has also received many delegations of officials and students from Korean universities for cultural exchanges such as Hanyang University and Sookmyung Women's University.
Regarding the management of Lao students studying at the University, the University always complies with the regulations set by the Ministry of Education and Training on the management of foreigner learners studying in Vietnam; ensure the enrollment, training, and accommodation of Lao students studying at the University. In 2011, the University issued the guidelines for receiving, managing and training Lao students studying at the University to ensure that the management of Lao students studying at the University is done in a regular manner. clear and effective. The University also regularly updates the information regarding Lao students on foreign student management software of the Bureau of International Cooperation, the Ministry of Education and Training as well as periodically and ad hoc reports on the management of foreigners studying and working at the University.
For the management of students and lecturers sent abroad to study, the University always implements careful management, only sends them to partner institutions; implement the process of making a decision to send them abroad to study and make reports to relevant management agencies; issue a decision to receive them back when there are complete records and make reports as required by current regulations on management of students and lecturers sent abroad to study.
