Final of 2020 provincial-level "Student Leadership" contest.
To practically celebrate the 20th Congress of the Party Committee of Binh Dinh Province (term 2020-2025), the 19th Congress of the Vietnamese Student Association (SA) of Quy Nhon University (QNU), term 2020-2023, towards the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Students’ Traditional Day and Vietnamese Student Association (January 9, 1950 - January 9, 2021), the 90 days of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (YU) (March 26, 1931- March 26, 2021). On the evening of October 1. 2020, at QNU’s Hall B. the Secretariat of QNU’s Student Association (SA) held the final of the 2020 provincial-level "Student Leadership" Contest.
Previous to this, the preliminary round had taken place with nearly 100 contestants from the inter-Youth Unions, inter-Student Unions and clubs under QNU’s YU. The contest aims to test and evaluate the capacity, awareness and activity-organizing ability of the grassroots cadres of YU and SA, through which the training and retraining suitable for the cadres of YU and SA would be mapped out in the time to come. At the same time, the contest created an opportunity for cadres of YU and SA to meet and broaden their experience, contributing to the good performance of the tasks assigned at their units. Attending the 2nd Final of the 2020 Student Leadership were representatives of the Provincial SA Secretariat, the Standing Committee of Binh Dinh’s YU, the Standing Committee of the YU and the Secretariat of SA and nearly 500 students of QNU.
In addition, reporters and journalists of some newspapers and radio stations came to report the news. On behalf of the organizers, Mr. Cao Ky Nam, President of QNU’s SA expressed his excitement at the efforts of the student leaders. At the same time, he expressed his deep gratitude to QNU’s leaders and leaders of Binh Dinh province and the Provincial SA Secretariat and he had high hope that the students would make more and more efforts to improve themselves comprehensively, especially professionally. The final results consisted of 4 consolation prizes, 2 third prizes, 1 second prize and 2 first prizes. Lê Phuong Thao, student of Math Pedagogy, Class of 2017, won the first prize convincingly.
On behalf of the student leaders, Lê Phuong Thao honestly said the 2020 student leadership contest was very rewarding, helping to disseminate the spirit of the contest to students and at the same time helped the student leaders to have opportunities to show their talents. She expressed hope that QNU’s SU would continue to hold many useful contests like that one for student leaders to have opportunities to meet and broaden experience and develop comprehensively”.
