Department of Science-Technology & International Cooperation - On the afternoon of July 12, 2019, the closing ceremony of the UNESCO-UNITWIN 2019 Program with the topic "Raising the status of women through information technology training and leadership capacity" jointly organized by Sookmyung Women's University (South Korea) and Quy Nhon University, officially ending a 5-day training program at Quy Nhon University from July 8 to July 12, 2019.
The UNESCO-UNITWIN 2019 Program really attracted the attention of many students. The University recruited 80 of the best female students from many disciplines in the whole University to participate in a training course in information and communications technology (ICT) and leadership (Leadership) lectured by leading professors and experts from Sookmyung Women's University, South Korea. The ICT training course equipped students with knowledge of Arduino and the development of applications on the phone. Meanwhile, the female students who took part in the Leadership training course to improve their knowledge of self-esteem, vision, creativity, time management, problem-solving as well as communication skills. In particular, the students had the opportunity to learn practical experience on leadership competencies through lectures by Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Chairman of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council, one of Vietnam's leading businesswomen.

With the content of the program designed in depth and practical application, the UNESCO-UNITWIN 2019 Program received very positive feedback from the students participating in the training course. Through the Program, in addition to learning many interesting and useful professional knowledge, the students were also equipped with soft and teamwork skills. Especially, they had a good opportunity to learn and communicate in an international environment with students from South Korea and some other countries.
At the end of the training course, all the students participating in the program were granted certificates by the Sookmyung Women's University. The students participating in the training courses were divided into 20 groups and competed in 2 contests (group presentation in English on a number of related topics) to select 2 best groups of the 2 courses. These 2 groups will represent Quy Nhon University to compete with competitors from some member countries of the UNESCO-UNITWIN 2019 program at an international contest that will take place in Seoul, South Korea at the end of 2019.
